My Self-Summary
His name is Kirma and he’s illiterate. I’m helping him fill this out, but honestly speaking, it’s a complete waste. Besides that, don’t you think his rank is unfairly high? Even though it’s still in the single digits, it’s not as if he wouldn’t be at home in the basement levels. If someone could send my complaints along to the house, I’d appreciate it.
Surviving?
Chasing sticks. Eating absurd quantities of garbage. Fouling up perfectly nice beds. Trampling flowers.

cue imgs 56-68 dot png. every last detail, maybe, mostly. there's overlaps and there's bad cropping and one of them in the middle is the homescreen (somehow) BUT HE'S TRYING. god. )
no subject
Good boy. ( reward first, of course :) )
Have you found any cats to play with?
no subject
A few. ( in threads I NEED TO TAG but ) Does it matter?
no subject
unfortunately, he doesn't know kirma that well, and doesn't know the extent of his naivety and honesty. what had esikko said that one time? that kirma liked meat? hmmmmm... )
Out of curiosity, while I make my way to you.
Say, why don't we play a little game while we're at it? What do you think?
no subject
( no calculations on his end. just happy to be here. )
no subject
no subject
at the same time— aventurine has been nothing but honest with him, as far as he knows. perhaps a little bit more trust is in order, at least to start? it isn't as though the stakes are high. )
Let me find some dice.
no subject
( because kirma is always so vague with directions wtf. but at least aventurine is lucky and smart, which is a dangerous combination. soon enough, around the corner, he spots a familiar dog, looking as canine as ever. )
A shame we don't have matching ears, but at least I understand how you feel a little better now. ( hence the intentional tail wagging ) Don't you think these suit me?
no subject
I would say they do.
( not enough to smile about it, but his own tail does thump furiously against the grass. he's doing his best to not seem too into it, but again, the tail... )
So? ( what's this magic trick, then. )
no subject
so, with the snap of his fingers, three dice and a dice cup appear in his hand. like magic! )
Personalized for our little game. ( except they're his just in his own peacock-esque colors. he drops the dice inside of the cup, and hands it to kirma. ) Feel free to do the honors. You may shake the cup as many times as you want, then - ( fucking flat surfaces, man. aventurine gives a quick look around, and walks closer to a nearby bench.
he leans on it, because of course he does. ) Turn the cup face down on the bench once you're done. Easier to count the numbers this way. May Lady Luck be in your favor, my friend.
no subject
he has no idea if that’s good or not.
kirma’s ears turn backwards as he considers this unfortunate development. maybe he needs to at least figure out how numbers are written, given the environment they’re in. in the meantime, all he can do is look to aventurine for clarification on the results. )
no subject
Six, five and two. Thirteen is pretty good. Only six away the highest score. At the very least, Lady Luck isn't looking away from you.
( compliments aplenty, and they're genuine ones, as far as his tone goes. he gestures for the cup back, drop the three dice back in and, at the very least, he isn't half as a show-off at this than in his trailer lmao. for all it's worth, it's impressive for someone who has never seen a dealer or a gambler in action; knowing how much force to use, the twist of a wrist, the movements of an arm.
down goes the cup, and from it — ) Six, two, and six. Fourteen, then. What a close call! A little more, and you could have beaten me. ( lmao
the dice and cup leave gold sparkles as they disappear off his hand, and the smile on his face grows a little thinner - perhaps too much like a fox's. )
Well then. That means I can ask anything of you. Are we still in agreement?
no subject
If I wasn’t, it’d be a little late, now.
( they’ve already played the game. the time for misgivings is a bit past, isn’t it? )
Or are you thinking of something so dire, I’ll want to back out?
( haha. it’s a joke, you see. he’s learning. )
no subject
You think I would treat one of my good friends like that? I'd never be so cruel. ( though it sounds much like some sort of twisted irony, it is anything but.
there's two reasons as to why aventurine is here, he hasn't forgotten. both are easy enough to obtain; a reward for a game, and a debt for the future. he steps in closer, slithers fingers down kirma's arm, to his hand, entwines them. they're close in height, at least - close enough that aventurine can keep their faces close, and their lips closer still.
then, in all of his foxian charm: ) That token you will get once you play with your cats. Won't you give it to me?
no subject
That’s all? ( he tilts his head, ears twitching. ) Something like that, you could’ve just asked for.
( you see, the game doesn’t matter. the rewards are meaningless, the potential punishments are still leagues better than anything he could’ve hoped to achieve back home. the main issue is that the golden peacock is safe. boring, even. sure, he plays along— only to kill time. even that is beginning to lose its appeal, but what else is there to do? what use is three ranks, one way or the other? if it matters to aventurine, though, he’s happy to give it.
with their hands linked, kirma tugs at aventurine as he sits on the bench. isn’t there something about it, with quick foxes and lazy dogs… )
Is that really all you want?
( as a game prize, or in a more general sense? well, either, really. )
no subject
maybe kirma is just genuine and honest, and that's far more bothersome than if he had ill intentions behind his every word and action. for some reason, aventurine feels more like he has lost than otherwise. )
Shouldn't I be asking that of you? ( he allows himself to be pulled along, but sits himself on kirma's lap instead. what happened to topping? we just don't know. ) Two or more foxes, and you can get a small item. Is there anything you want?
no subject
Haven’t given it much thought.
( a truthful admission. it hasn’t stopped him from trying to pursue the goal at all, but it also means he hasn’t put too much effort in, either. (after all, laying in the grass is hardly the best way to chase down a rabbit.) of course, he knows someone who will be happy to take that reward, the same as aventurine has laid claim to the other; his gaze slides away as he considers that option. hmm. )
Something practical, or something sentimental. ( those are the only two options, really, but he remains undecided on which. ) I still need a bit of help getting it, either way.
( 🥺, as they say… during all this, his free hand has made its way to aventurine’s tail, stroking along the fur, soft and glossy. maybe bathing does have its uses. truly, he’s beginning to understand so much. )
no subject
ratio is trustworthy, because he does his work thoroughly and meticulously, with little room for error. he's trustworthy because he's a doctor through and through, who values the evolution and success of humanity above all else.
kirma... )
I didn't take you for the sentimental type. ( he didn't take kirma for anything, because aventurine keeps trying to see something that isn't there.
the hand on his tail is a weird feeling, still hard to get used to it. it makes him aware of that extra bone, swaying along the touch. a new feeling to force himself to like, or grow numb to it. ) But if it's help you need, I consider myself quite the giving person.
( giving free credits, giving his life, giving up his freedom - so what's one more? what's another measured kiss, the grazing of his newly obtained canines against kirma's lips, the lack of shame that anyone could walk in on them? )
no subject
so, let’s stick with the dog thing. no duplicity, only acceptance. tolerance, as well. he sees the way aventurine weaves his words like a net, that there’s more than one meaning in everything he says; kirma just doesn’t pursue those threads, or do anything past taking what’s told to him at face value. it is a willful sort of stupidity, a survival mechanism in its own right— since that’s all they’re doing here, in the end. surviving, and not really living at all.
the kiss, though, is not unwelcome. even if this is somehow just business (can he not have a bit of hope it’s not?), he has no complaints. )
You know— ( he’s thinking out loud, in a space that opens up between their lips. not the time for it, really, but the train of thought has already stated. ) I’ve never met a fox before. Ha Yun’s followers were driven out so long ago…
( great bedroom talk, huh. he leaves aventurine’s tail alone now to hook his arm around his neck instead, trying to chase another kiss. )
no subject
he doesn't mind it, at least. ha yun isn't a word, or a name he recognizes, so aventurine will shelve it in his mind and bring it up to topaz later, if it means learning anything about kirma, or where he's from, or any hint at all.
could he just ask him? maybe so. but it's easier to snoop, to learn from the shadows, because speaking of the past isn't always so pleasant to everyone.
but he gives, still, as he's wont to do. that second kiss, hungrier and more urgent, in accordance to his body's needs, as though telling him that over a wolf, at the very least, he should come on top, have some dominance. )
Does it mean I'm your first? ( between kisses, and nibbles - aggressive ones, maybe, always coming too close to breaking skin and drawing blood. a call-back to their, ironically, first time, because aventurine is cringe like that. ) Seems like someone has a knack at taking those from me. Do you like me that much?
no subject
I might.
( it helps that they’re not playing 20 questions, this time. though the publicity of their current venue leaves some things to be desired— his ears catch a giggle on the wind and turn to find it, but it’s distant enough to not be related to them, as far as he can tell— he’s more than happy to be the target of aventurine’s aggressions. if anything, he wishes he’d go farther. enough almosts and close calls, and he’s pushing back against aventurine’s teeth in a slowly increasing desperation for a line to be crossed.
and through it all, their hands. he holds his firm, a clear savoring of the connection. it’s not something that he’d ever ask for, so he needs to appreciate it while it’s here… )
But only when you’re not talking.
( as if he’s not the one that randomly started yapping this time. )
no subject
not that he blames kirma for it. he knows well this is his own fault. had this been anyone else, aventurine would have laughed, teased, played along. kirma is honest to a fault, and that, to a man as cursed with death as aventurine is, would brings more hurt than good.
his smile falls for a moment, especially when he's made even more aware of their connected hands. he should have taken his away. it's not surprising that a place as filled with debauchery would bring rise to this kind of thing; humans, regardless of their overall race, still long for connections, and attachments, and the comfort of another.
even now, aventurine is still - )
... If I keep talking, ( he doesn't give back, for once. teases at kirma's lips, catches them between his teeth and breaks skin this time, nurses that default smile on his face, ) are you going to punish me for it?
cw dog feelings
he will break their hold, then, arms moving to lazily encircle aventurine's waist instead. his face does not change in expression, but his ears fold back, a downcast turn reflected in his eyes. the look is a fleeting one— it fades as the taste of iron hits his tongue, though the ears remain where they are. )
Is that what you want from me? Cruelty and punishment?
( it's hard not to look at aventurine's neck, with that one. the world is much bigger than he ever realized before coming here, so perhaps by some miracle the connotations of such a thing are wildly different than what he'd assume, but back home the only visible brands and tattoos are for criminals, outcasts, property. there's a reason why his own is somewhere more discreet. )
